Built in Kenya, for the way Kenyans actually get care.
SasaAfya is a Kenyan health technology company closing the gap between the home and the hospital for people living with diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions across Sub-Saharan Africa.
SasaAfya is a Kenyan health technology company incorporated in 2018 with a mission to make quality healthcare more accessible, regardless of distance.
What started as a response to a personal family struggle became a mission to build healthcare solutions that work for the realities of Kenya. We believe medical technology cannot simply be imported; it must be designed around local infrastructure, connectivity, affordability, and the way care is delivered.
Today, SasaAfya builds affordable, connected health devices and the technology that links health readings from home with healthcare professionals. Starting with glucose monitoring, we are building a more continuous relationship between individuals and their care teams, helping bring timely, quality healthcare closer to home.

Chronic disease in Sub-Saharan Africa is not always fatal because it cannot be treated. Too often, it becomes fatal because the care needed to manage it is too far away, too expensive to reach, or comes too late.
Across the region, healthcare specialists and advanced facilities are concentrated in major cities, leaving millions of people in rural and underserved communities with limited access to specialised care. For many families, the real cost of healthcare is not only the medicine. It is the transport, the time away from work, and the income lost simply getting to a healthcare facility.
At the same time, many health technologies are not designed for the realities of the communities they are meant to serve. They often depend on reliable connectivity, smartphones, and data plans that are not always available.
The result is a gap between what is happening to someone's health at home and what a healthcare professional can see and act on. Conditions that could be detected early and managed continuously can go unnoticed until they become serious.
SasaAfya exists to help close that gap.

Healthcare technology should be designed for the realities of the people it serves.
Across Sub-Saharan Africa, there is a need for smart medical devices designed and built around our infrastructure, connectivity, affordability, and healthcare systems.
When chronic conditions are not monitored closely, small changes can become serious complications. Missed warning signs, delayed treatment adjustments, and long journeys to specialists can mean care comes too late, even for conditions that can be managed when detected early and continuously.
SasaAfya is working to close this gap by building technology that makes continuous health monitoring more practical and accessible. Because quality healthcare should not depend on where someone lives, how far they are from a specialist, or whether they can afford the journey to a hospital.
Building Beyond the Device
SasaAfya's ambition goes beyond developing a hardware MVP and outsourcing its production. Our long-term goal is to change where and how these devices are made. Working with manufacturing partners, SasaAfya is building toward a joint-manufacturing model that brings production closer to the people who use these products. It is a pathway inspired by countries such as India and Malaysia, which have steadily developed their own medical device manufacturing capabilities.
Local Manufacturing
Local Supply
Secure Health Data
The Patient
This is not a finished chapter, but a roadmap we are actively building toward, with the goal of creating a healthcare technology ecosystem that is designed, manufactured, and connected to the realities of the people it serves.
Building the Future of Healthcare Together
Our vision is bigger than any one organisation. We are partnering with hospitals, clinicians, manufacturers, regulators and impact investors to extend quality care beyond the walls of the hospital, connecting patients to the professionals and services they trust, wherever they live.
